About the Department

The Department of Civil Engineering with its multifacieted faculty continues to maintain and cultivate strong links with the infra structural industry and academic and research institutions. The academic activities of the Department emphasizes deep understanding of fundamental principles, development of creative ability to handle the challenges of Civil Engineering, and the analytical ability to solve problems which are interdisciplinary in nature.

Eco Club

The soul of college / university life is the fraternities on the campus – the clubs that become a surrogate family for a student, helping him/her grow and explore latent talents in fields other than academics.
JCET-Hubballi, has a strong tradition of student bodies and clubs that attract students from all disciplines, cutting across courses. Indeed, a student has much to look forward to on the campus, besides classroom learning, and laboratory practical sessions, or even regular dives into library shelves. Teaching faculty and other staff are equally enthusiastic about the clubs.

To encourage interest and knowledge about various aspects of civil Engineering.

Department Activities Timeline

Engineers Day

On birth anniversary of Sir. M. Visvesvaraya “Engineers Day” was celebrated on 15th September 2023. Er. Veeresh Varoor, Structural Manager, Hubballi-Dharwad Smart City Ltd was chief guest of the function and Dr. Prashanth Banakar, Principal, JCET Hubballi presided over the function. Civil Engineering Department HOD Prof. Naveen B. Shirur, all HOD’s, Teaching & Non-teaching staff , Students were present in the function.

World Environment Day

Poster Presentation competition conducted on eve of “World Environment Day” celebration held on 01-06-2023. Principal Dr. Prashanth Banakar and HOD’s of all department were present and encouraged our students.

Demonstration of Electrical Resistivity

Demonstration of Electrical Resistivity Test was organised for 4th Semester students on 16-08-2023 as a part of Curriculam. Students got the knowledge and awareness about equipment operation and location of ground water table.

Sustainability in Construction using GGBS and Green Materials

An Industry Interactive session on “ Sustainability in Construction using GGBS and Green Materials” in association with JSW Cements held on 17-08-2023. Delegated from JSW cements Mr. M.S.Manoj (General Manager(North Karnataka), Mr. Srinivas Rao Kulkarni(Senior Manager Sales And Marketing) and Mr. Vinayak Nayak ( Manager, Direct Sales) were present. Principal Dr. Prashanth Banakar presided over the function. Civil Department HOD Prof. Naveen B. Shirur, Dr. S.B. Hegde, Event coordintor Prof. Akshata Musale, all teaching & Non teaching and students of all semester were present during the function.

AVINYA-2K23

Two days technical event AVINYA 2k23 was organised by Department of Civil Engineering for civil department students. Principal Dr. Prashanth Banakar presided over the function, Er. Vijay Totiger was chief guest on Day 1 Inauguration function .Dr. Shashibhushan Bilianagdi was chief guest on Valedictory function. Events like Technical Seminar, Bridge Making, Technical Quiz and CAD 2D organised for students. More than 100 students from our college and other colleges were participated. Prof. Sunil Umachagi was the coordinator of the event.
